NuWave™ Noise Barrier
NuWave™ Noise Barrier (NB) is a mass-loaded polymer. NuWave adds limp, non-resonant mass to a structure, enhancing noise reduction by increasing mass, damping vibration, and minimising resonance.
Stiff, lightweight panels like plasterboard, plywood, and hollow core walls often exhibit coincidence dip resonance. This phenomenon enables noise to propagate through the structure. The occurrence of the coincidence dip relates to the stiffness and thickness of the material, happening when the transmitted sound aligns with the panel's natural frequency.
- Simple installation
- Non-resonant, high mass, limp barrier for enhanced noise reduction
- Highly flexible and Easy to configure even in tight spaces to obtain a noise-tight seal.
- Easy to cut, sew, and mechanically fasten into position.
- Long-lasting with over 30 years of industry use
- No ozone-depleting substances are generated during manufacture.
- Free from lead, odour-producing oils, and bitumen
- Resistant to most chemicals, solvents, and petrol Tear resistant with high tensile strength
- NuWave NB is highly flexible, enabling a noise-tight seal.
Most are used to silence noise in walls, timber floors and ceiling spaces, particularly suitable for office partitions in commercial buildings and all acoustically sensitive rooms.
Some common applications
- Soundproofing walls/doors
- Privacy from crosstalk
- Restaurants and venues
- HVAC wrapping
- Industrial spaces
- Commercial spaces
- Modular and tiny homes
- Media. Music practice and game rooms
- Site and construction noise control
- Generator and general enclosures
- Draped over fencing or screens to establish an acoustic barrier.
- For lightweight structures, effectively dampens vibrations and mitigates airborne noise.
- Minimising the transmission of engine and road noise through a structure:
NuWave™ Noise Barrier is inexpensive and very easy to cut and install. The product is fabric-backed with an embossed face, making it tear-resistant and highly flexible. NuWave™ ‘Base’ Acoustic Barrier is supplied in rolls.
